Paul Evans
MA, VetMB, Cert V Ophthal, MRCVS

Paul Evans qualified at Cambridge University Veterinary School in 1968. He worked in general practice in north Herefordshire building up to a "James Herriot" three person mixed practice. His interest in ophthalmology was stimulated by the enthusiasm of Dr Keith Barnett, his Cambridge lecturer and later mentor in eyes and eye diseases. Sale of the general practice in 1991 allowed him to devote 100% of his working time and efforts to the development of a dedicated ophthalmology practice with the founding of Eye Veterinary Clinic.

In his time at Glasgow he obtained the RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Ophthalmology and became a Member of the Institute of Teaching and Learning. At Glasgow he was responsible for all aspects of the clinical ophthalmology referral service and he also set up and ran an ophthalmic pathology referral service.
