Purchase a focusing pen torch
The majority of pen torches available do not have focus. They are fine for checking Pupil Light Responses (PLRs) but limited when looking to see if a lens is dislocated.
Buy a Mini Maglite torch for about £10. Adjust the focus to a spot. Look along the beam pointing it directly into the eye AND THEN look down on the anterior chamber from above, viewing the eye at right angles to the beam. This will help you spot a dislocated lens, or other material, in what should be the clear medium of the anterior chamber. |
