The facility has a staff of nine and mainly handles domestic pets, mostly cats and dogs, as well as horses. It also carries out work for Johannesburg and Pretoria national zoos as well as the aquarium based about 650km away in Durban. The hospital works closely with a number of animal rescue organisations including centres involved with rehabilitation of wildlife which occasionally gives the opportunity to get out and about working with wildlife in its natural environment. These visits have included work on elephants, rhinos, lions, cheetahs and buffalo.

Antony and Izak are also involved with the tuition of undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students at the faculty of veterinary science. Their hospital in Johannesburg is equipped with similar specialist equipment as Eye Veterinary Clinic.
