01 August 2001 update. . . . .

The first sod is due to be turned on 13 August following final agreement of plans and arrangement of the building schedule. Building is due to be completed within 25 weeks which suggests a completion date in the middle of February 2002.

The full buidling story will be added to the site as it unfolds. More to follow.

26 July 2001 update. . . . .

Following further changes to the internal layout of the new hospital we are now finalising the next stage of the development - the building of the hospital. We hope that digging should start in a short time and we will bring you news of that and also some photographs as the building progresses.

08 February 2001 update . . . .

Planning consent has now been granted for the development of a Veterinary Eye Hospital at Marlbrook on a site adjacent to the roundabout at the southern end of the Leominster bypass. The hospital will contain a number of state-of-the-art consulting rooms and operating theatres with all the backup facilities that go with them. We will put details of the hospital on the site as we progress.

December 2000 update . . . . .

Agreement has been reached for the site and plans are being finalised prior to a planning application being made. The site is just south of Leominster so we will not be forced to move elsewhere as was thought at one point. More news soon.

October 2000 update . . . .

A number of issues have affected the proposed new clinic which have put this back by a few months, but we hope to be able to tell you more in our Winter edition.

July 2000 update . . . .

It is really worth being patient, or so we have discovered. Negotiations for the likely site are close to completion. We feel our patience will be rewarded with an excellent position in this area which is easy for visitors to find and close to local facilities. The saying "location, location, location" is particularly relevant to us and will apply to the NEW Eye Vet Clinic. More news as soon as possible.

Previously . . . .

Our most exciting news is the development of a completely new clinic facility in the coming year. We are currently submitting planning applications and so the actual location cannot yet be revealed but the completely new facility will be no more than a stone’s throw away from our present location. We will let you know more in the New Year.

The plans have been discussed in detail with friends and colleagues from Chicago to Toronto, and from Newcastle to Exeter. All being well we should be moving into a state of the art building this time next year.

Although the new building will not in itself change our work, it will allow us to be more efficient and to continue to provide your clients with the highest possible standard of referral service, and to make their visits to Eye Veterinary Clinic worthwhile and enjoyable.
