Glaucoma is an increased pressure within the eyeball.
Aqueous fluid is formed continually and drains out of the eye into the blood stream, through the angle between the cornea and the iris.
In an inherited disease in several breeds of dogs a poorly developed drainage andgle leads to an increased risk of glaucoma.
We think that the Hungarian Vizsla may have this inherited condition. Carrying out this examination ensures that the Hungarian Vizsla breed stays free of this serious sight threatening, and painful disease.
