Our leader, Paul, and Sandi celebrating the end of the second day's building - well, destruction anyway. At this rate all should be finished by the end of the week. On that thought a pig was seen flying overhead about the time this picture was taken.

Digging the footing begins after the site has been marked out.

Friday 24 August 2001 - 9.30am

The concrete footings are poured and spread evenly prior to the bolts being placed in exactly the correct position.

Friday 24 August 2001 - 9.40am

The four bolts for each vertical steel member are sunk into the concrete below a precise mark and centred. The resultant positioning was within 3mm of true.

Mind your foot!
The steel is dropped slowly onto the bolts in the concrete.

Each steel is lifted into position and dropped onto the four bolts set into the concrete before being levelled up in all planes. The steels are straight - the curvature is as a result of a very wide-angle lens.

The scale of the building can be seen with the hoist next to it. It was a delicate process to lift and install each piece of the frame.
