Marybeth Xiu Hui Tan

Marybeth joined Eye Veterinary Clinic in 2023 after completing her rotating internship in the UK. She graduated with distinction from the University of Edinburgh in 2022, where she was honoured with the Boehringer Ingelheim Neurology Award for being the top final year student in neurology.
Before embarking on her veterinary studies, Marybeth worked in diagnostic virology at a tertiary referral hospital for humans. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Medical Virology from the University of Manchester, where she achieved the Gerald Corbitt Memorial Prize for attaining the highest overall marks, surpassing the level of distinction.
Marybeth is passionate about all aspects of ophthalmology, with a particular interest in viral infections of the eye, and neuro-ophthalmology.
Outside of work, she enjoys swimming and travelling.

What wonderful staff my little mate who has been blind for 5 weeks was with them on Wednesday for his operation, after 5 very stressful, weeks for him and even for stressful for me, this morning I believe he can now see me again he woke this morning eyes wide open and a lovely sparkle in his face and I swear he was grinning at me I can’t thank John, Karen and the brilliant nurses and staff enough.

Can’t thank everyone here enough for everything they have done for Marley. He went blind just over a month ago with diabetic cataracts in both eyes, he is only 3. Ramona has been amazing from his first assessment all the way to his surgery yesterday. We will be forever grateful to you for giving him his sight back. Amazing practice and amazing people!
